I agree that from what you've said, there's a good reason the family held on to that property. This would be out 273 just past Fairhill, right? Is it up on N. Little Elk Creek Road? I see that on Rachel's probate papers there's a Thomas listed as a storekeeper in Cecil County. I assume that's her husband. If I can find anything interesting I'll let you know. Three unmarried sisters—Grace, Mercy and Elizabeth—ran the 86-acre farm and lived in comparative prosperity with an unusual amount of personal assets until their passing, after which a John Worrell (Thomas's son??) sold it to a Whiteman in 1874. But then in 1897 Whiteman heirs sold it back to a Sarah Worrell, who kept it until 1913. So for some reason even the later Worrell owners whose residences were in Mill Creek Hundred seemed to have some special attachment to this unremarkable property in Cecil County (the dwelling includes a seemingly quite ancient log structure). Any addition information about Thomas, John and Sarah Worrell would be appreciated.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03739055097010147128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3945719747276028760.post-7850001057402308102021-08-19T12:14:00.130-04:002021-08-19T12:14:00.130-04:00Sure! She died in 1930, unmarried at the age of 96. Just looking quickly, though, there are several other Emma Worrells in southeastern PA in 1910. Do you know anything more about her that might point in a direction? I'd be happy to try to help.Scott Palmernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3945719747276028760.post-30755857072704724652021-08-17T16:39:11.391-04:002021-08-17T16:39:11.391-04:00I think Emma is my great grandmother.
